Build your first flow
Automate a greeting, a question, or a whole qualifying conversation.
A flow is a small automatic conversation: something happens, then Labeeq does a series of steps. The most useful first flow is a greeting for messages that arrive out of hours.
- 1 Open Flows and press New flow, or «Start from a template» to begin from a ready-made one.
- 2 Choose what starts it — a new conversation, a brand-new contact, every incoming message, a comment on a post, a customer waiting too long, a deal or order changing, and more. Add conditions to narrow it down, such as «Message contains» a word, or one channel.
- 3 On the canvas, press a step's + to add the next one: send a message, ask a question and save the answer, wait, add a label, assign, and many more.
- 4 Use Buttons when you want the customer to choose — each button becomes its own path.
- 5 Publish. Flows only run once published, so you can build safely in the open.
Useful steps to know
- Ask a question saves the reply onto the contact, so you can use it later as a variable.
- Smart branch takes a different path by lifecycle stage, deal or channel; Split traffic sends a share of contacts down each path for an A/B test.
- HTTP request calls your own system mid-conversation — a stock check, an order lookup.
- Create deal, Create order and Create task put the conversation to work in your CRM.
- Google Sheets adds a row to a spreadsheet your team already lives in.
- AI agent lets an AI agent take a turn in the middle of the flow.
Conversational or background
A conversational flow talks with the customer, and only one runs in a conversation at a time. A background flow works quietly — labels, assignment, deals — and can run alongside others. Switch on «Only message during working hours» and the flow holds its messages until you open; silent steps still run.
A published flow is read-only. Stop it to edit, then publish again. Test it by messaging your own number before customers reach it.
